Check out is a privilege for students. Students are responsible for ALL books checked out. Checkout can be restricted if students persistently check out books without returning them. Restrictions are handled on an individual basis. Check out may also be affected if the student still has books checked out from a previous school they attended. Please contact the media specialist if you are unsure of your child's status.
How long can I keep the books I borrow?
Books are due 2 weeks after checkout. Books can be renewed if more time is needed.
What if my book is overdue?
We do not charge overdue fees but students with long overdue books may have borrowing privileges restricted.
What if my book is damaged?
Students should report damage to books as soon as they notice it. Students are responsible for returning library books in good condition. Fines will be charged for damage. Check or cash in the exact amount of what is owed should be sent to the librarian in the media center.
What if I lose my book?
Students will be asked to pay for lost books. The cost is based on the replacement of a library bound book. Check or cash in the exact amount of what is owed should be sent to the librarian in the media center.
What if I pay for a book and then I find it?
Please send in the book as soon as you find it. The media specialist will look at it and work on getting you a refund. The refund will take a few weeks. Books cannot be refunded from one school year if a new year has begun. In that case, your payment was a contribution for a new book for the library.
